(Web Desk) - An elderly poet in Uttarakhand's Pantnagar suffered a heart attack and died while he was reciting a poem during an event.

In an unprecedented turn of events, an elderly poet suffered a heart attack and fell on stage while performing at a poetry festival in Uttarakhand's Pantnagar.

The video of the incident, which is being widely shared on social media, shows an elderly man reciting a poem on stage and suddenly collapsing on another person seated behind him.

The organisers rushed him to the district hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. His family later took his body to his ancestral residence in Mathura.

The poet, identified as Subhash Chaturvedi, had retired from the position of Assistant Accountant at Pantnagar University in 2014 and resided in Jawahar Nagar.
