LAHORE (Dunya News) - Former cricketer Muhammad Yousaf reveals that at one stage he had decided to bid adieu to cricket as his passion for cricket was financially affecting his family.

A miracle happened when a local club invited him to play for it. He made a century in the first game, which paved the way for him to play in England.

Speaking at Mazaq Raat - a Dunya News production - he shared snippets from his life. He said his prowess in batting during matches in England drew the selectors’ attention and he got a chance to play in the national team.

“The Pakistani cricket has made many legends and our players have excelled in all the departments - batting, bowling and fielding, said star batsman Muhammad Yousaf.

Yousaf is such a big name who made Pakistan proud in every form of cricket and he is still considered one of the best batsmen ever produced by Pakistan. He was technically sound and his temperament was very calm. He is still serving cricket.

He shared that he initially left cricket as he came from a humble background and he thought that his love for cricket was taking a toll on financial conditions. He was always supported by his family and he took this decision on his own.

He was learning how to become a tailor when a miracle put him back into the game. He revealed that a local league asked him to play a tournament match and he made a century in it. This got him an opportunity to play in a league in England.

He was not paid by this league in England but he got a chance to play first class cricket and finally got into the national team.
