Popsicle Eyes Cooper was always a strange and unpopular pick for the role.

The Crow remake just cant catch a break. Its seen Stephen Norrington, Nick Cave and Mark Wahlberg come and go already. But when Relativity signed Juan Carlos Fresnadillo to direct, and Bradley Cooper to star, it seemed to be on its way to the big screen at last. But The Crow has once again lost its Eric Draven. According to Heat Vision Reporter, Cooper has left the project due to schedule conflicts. Coopers slate has rapidly filled over the summer, and his commitments to David O. Russells The Silver Linings Playbook and Alex Proyas Paradise Lost leave him unable to slap on the Gothic facepaint.Popsicle Eyes Cooper was always a strange and unpopular pick for the role, but Im sorry to see him go. I was curious to see him go a little dark and weird, and his Joker grin was a perfect fit for the make-up. (And to think, how it would have set off his amazing eyes...)Im disappointed. Youre probably not.Actually, scratch that. You might be quite sorry Cooper left when you hear who is on the shortlist to replace him. Channing Tatum and Wahlbergs names are both floating around as possible picks, though Wahlbergs 2 Guns commitments may keep him from out of consideration. (In a weird twist, Wahlberg dropping out of Silver Linings is what freed up the role for Cooper. Wheels within wheels. These two just keep swapping roles right and left. Theyre the Bizarro World versions of one another.)As if picking a star isnt problematic enough, The Crow is also in arbitration as to whether the Weinsteins or Relativity own the distribution rights. As we speak, theres a dark, Gothic tumblr insisting this is all proof the property is cursed. Its not. Its just Hollywood.
