Jha hopes his controversial film to do well

Expressing happiness over no major protests since films release, Jha hoped that film would do well.

Amidst protests and a partial ban, Bollywood filmmaker Prakash Jha hoped that his controversial new film ‘Aarakshan’ (Reservation) would do good business.Three provinces, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh had banned the screening of the film following claims that the film dealing with the issue of quotas in government jobs and education portrays underprivileged sections of the Indian society in a bad light.The film, produced and directed by Prakash Jha, features Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Manoj Bajpai, Deepika Padukone, Prateik Babbar and Tanvi Azmi.Jha claimed a 20-member panel in southern Andhra Pradesh has cleared the film for public screening. The state government of northern Punjab state has also reportedly cleared the film, suggesting minor changes. However nothing concrete has emerged about its screening across the state.
