Verna finally given go-ahead to release in Punjab

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Verna has finally been given go-ahead to release in Punjab after reservations were raised in its content by the censor boards.
The decision was taken by Punjab censor board today in a meeting. Sources told that the permission was given only after compelling the filmmakers to abide by certain conditions regarding the movie scenes. Talking to media, Punjab censor board secretary confirmed that they have permitted Verna to release all across the province.
Scheduled to release on November 17 worldwide, the movie was issued certificate during early Friday morning by the Sindh censor board. The main censor board office in Islamabad had also declared it appropriate for release across the country. The movie floored without any trouble in the US and UK cinemas.
Earlier, the full bench of censor board had restricted display of the Pakistani in cinemas across the Punjab due to highlighting controversial issue. The first show of the movie that was scheduled at 2:00pm had been cancelled at all the cinemas.
Reacting to the decision of the board, glamorous actress Mahira Khan took to Twitter and hoped for complete clearance from Punjab. She thanked her fans and colleagues who supported her throughout the journey.
