New Delhi: Rahat Fateh Ali Khan charged

Pakistans legendary singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has been charged under Customs Act for carrying undeclared foreign currency in his third hearing in the office of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence in New Delhi.

The DRI will now confiscate the currency and the case will go to a quasi-judicial authority headed by a Customs Officer.Rahat was arrested at the New Delhi airport for carrying foreign currency of worth $124,000. However, he was released after the assurance of Pakistani embassy in India but he was not allowed to leave India till the completion of investigation.Under Indian law, no one is allowed to carry more than 10000 dollars in cash and travels cheque.
