NY Fashion Week: Famous designers exhibit their Fall 2011 collections

Designer Rebecca Taylor and Jason Wu showed their clothes for Fall 2011 in mind for her runway show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York.

The colors electric blue, liquid orange, purple recalled the neon signs of a weekend nights pub crawl. These jewel tones popped against shades of gray and plenty of black. Rebecca Taylor, a New Zealand native who came to New York City in the mid-1990s with the dream of starting her own fashion label, is known for clothes with a light and feminine appeal. While the designer Jason Wu created an understated vision of Versailles for Fall 2011 with spare-cut clothes dressed up with beads, lace and feathers at his runway show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City. One of his most memorable looks was a gold lace gown that shimmered with beaded embroidery.The gowns clean lines, a top styled like a T-shirt and a slim skirt that flowed into a slight train in the back provided a stark contrast to the fabric and trim. Wus Fall 2011 collection showed his mastery of the use of beads, lace and feathers in a fresh way. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weeks Fall 2011/Winter 2012 runway collections will continue in New York City through February 17.
