American designer Raul Melgoza of Luca Luca showed a Fall 2011 collection bursting with color and forest fantasy details at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York.

The lean-line clothes in warm colors and luxe fabrics, with some splashes of fur, were created for women who want fashion again after making do with fade-into-the-woodwork basics during the recession. His message came through loud and clear with the first look he sent down the runway. His capelet trench coat was a vision in butterscotch poplin, teamed with slouchy avocado leather pants and a silk blouse in a fuchsia leaf print. The designer told he was inspired by trips to places like Yosemite National Park in California, famous for its giant sequoia trees. He said he loves to go deep into the woods to escape the city, especially after fashion shows and their crazy schedules.
