Oscar statues get makeover

The Oscars are still more than four months away, but crews have already started preps for Hollywood's biggest night. On Friday, the iconic Oscar statues that line the red carpet got a makeover, getting sanded down and refinished with a fresh coat of gold paint. The statues will first debut at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Governors Awards, which are handed out on November 13 and will honor director Francis Ford Coppola. Then it's back into storage for the big night, the 83rd Academy Awards, which will take place on February 27, 2011.
