Aamir Khan in Toronto to promote new flick Dhobi Ghat

Indian superstar Aamir Khan is in Toronto to promote his new film Dhobi Ghat, or Mumbai Diaries at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). In an interview, Khan said Indian cinema gained international recognition through Bollywood films, films out of India with typically multi-million dollar budgets, big name stars and often singing and dancing. But, with Hindi Indie, different films from India are becoming popular domestically and around the world.It's an exciting time. I think there are a lot of young, dynamic filmmakers coming in with their own voices and with their own experiences and their own influences and coming up with films that are quite unusual for Indian cinema, at least for mainstream India cinema, Khan said.It is pertinent to mention here that Khan's latest film, Dhobi Ghat falls into new category of Hindi Indie exports from India.
