The awards seaon officially kicked off in Beverly Hills, where some early Oscar favorites graced the red carpet for the 13th Annual Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony. The event was held at the legendary Beverly Hilton Hotel. Among those attending including A-list stars Hilary Swank, Bradley Cooper, Kate Beckinsale and Charlize Theron.The Hollywood Awards were established to honor excellence in the art of filmmaking, as well as creative talent within the global creative community. Oscar winner Hilary Swank was among those behind honored for her role in the Amelia Earhart, biopic, Amelia. A stunning Charlize Theron told Reuters the event is great evening. Christopher Waltz was also among those honored, receiving the Hollywood Supporting Actor Award for his role in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds.Considered by most as the first stop in the coveted Oscar race, the event is closely watched. In fact, over the last 6 years, a total of 56 Oscar nominations and 18 Oscars were given to films the Hollywood Film Festival showcased and/or to the nominees and honorees of the Hollywood Awards.
