The Nigerian government banned the screening of Hollywood's blockbuster movie District 9. The movie portrays Nigerians as gangsters and cannibals. Their leaders name is pronounced Obasanjo and it is the name of Nigerias former president. South African film has topped the UK box office for two straight weeks and ranked in the top 10 in North America. Nigerian Information Minister Dora Akunyili, criticizing the story of the film, said that the attack on Nigeria was unwarranted and baseless.
