Deepika very happy at Cocktail success

Deepika Padukone seems to be very happy these days because of Cocktail success.

After all, ‘Cocktail’ has gone across ‘Housefull’, the collections crossing the 72 crore mark and the highest amount of collections of 80 crores for a romcom.Though it it dosent seem like it’s going to cross the 100 crore mark it definately is the biggest romcom success for the multiplex audience.“Of course all of this indeed sounds flattering for sure,” smiles Deepika, “Still, the kind of response the film is getting, it is indeed overwhelming. and by the way, that’s not just because I am a part of the film but also because i have always truly enjoyed doing love stories.I am partial towards such films and it’s nice to know that today not only comedy, drama or action films are doing well but there is definite place for a pure love story to do such good business as well.”There is no reason why Deepika shouldn’t feel that way. Her last romcom that did so well was ‘Love Aaj Kal’ netted 70 crores at the box office.She further says, “You can see from my body of work that i have experimented with roles and choice of films but romance is something that really charges me up most.Today when people are sitting down and talking about ‘Cocktail’ being the highest grossing love story at multiplexes after ‘Love Aaj Kal’, it indeed is a happy feeling.”‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ is Deepika’s next film and that also is a love story, lets see if she can raise the bar and do something extraordinary with this love story.Cocktail Box Office reports Aiming at Gen X, Cocktail has clicked with its target audience and has done a terrific job at the box office in its weekend.Starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty, the film opened to a huge collection of Rs. 11 crore, on Friday.
