A training workshop was held at Lahore General Hospital to save women from cancer during pregnancy.

 


LAHORE: A gynecology-training workshop held at Lahore General Hospital to save women from cancer during pregnancy and provision of all facilities for mother and child health units.


Addressing participants of the workshop, Professor Dr. Anjum Habib Vohra said that there should be a gynecology and child health specialists at village level for provision of govt healthcare facilities for the welfare of masses.


The gynecologist Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam, Prof. Shahina Asif, Prof. Farrukh Zaman, Prof. Nuzhat Khawaja, Prof. Shamsa Humayun and Dr. Mamuna Ashraf also delivered lectures on the subject of child-mother health.


Prof. Dr. Anjum Habib Vohra said it was highly necessary to focus on mother and child health to develop a healthy society. He said thousands of women and hundreds and thousands newborn children were dying on annual basis owing to the non-availability of healthcare facilities.


The PGMI Principal said that the medical professionals also needed to create awareness to face and resolve issues during newborn’s upbringing.


He stressed the doctors to motivate mothers to breastfeed their newborn children because it would save them from many diseases.
