Interviews of short listed candidates for appointment of a new executive director were held at HEC.
ISLAMABAD: Interviews of short listed candidates for appointment of a new executive director were held here at Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad in pursuance Supreme Court’s (SC) orders dated 20th December 2012.
The commission was directed by the SC for recruitment/ appointment of new Executive Director(ED) of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan within 30 days.
The interviews were conducted by the selection board dully approved by HEC governing board (commission). All the selection board members attended the meeting.
The selection board was chaired by Chairperson HEC Dr. Javaid R. Laghari, whereas other members included Federal Secretary Ministry of Science & Technology Akhlaq Ahmad Tarar, Executive Director HEC Engr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani, Member Commission HEC Mrs. Razina Alam Khan, Vice Chancellor Balochistan University of Information Technology Engr.
Ahmed Farooq Bazai, Engineering and Management Sciences Quetta, Vice Chancellor Beaconhouse National University Lahore Mr. Sartaj Aziz and Director General HRM HEC/Secretary Selection Board Mr. Awais Ahmed.
Twelve candidates appeared in the interview. The selection board short listed the top candidates and recommended their names to the commission for appointment as ED HEC.
Dr. Javaid R. Laghari extended thanks to board members for assisting in implementation of historic decision of Supreme Court of Pakistan and making the selection process transparent.
