Summary A Lahore woman accused a CCD police officer of rape and recording an explicit video; police registered a case after intervention by senior officials.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - A CCD police officer allegedly raped a young woman in Lahore’s Kahna area and recorded a video of her while she was naked. A case has been registered against the officer.

According to the FIR, the woman, a resident of Kot Lakhpat, visited Kahna Bazaar on October 1, where her mobile phone went missing from her purse. She subsequently visited Kahna Police Station to report the missing phone, where she met CCD police officer Shabbir.

The FIR states that officer Muhammad Shabbir obtained her phone number and contacted her, asking her to come to Ahlu Road on the pretext that her missing mobile phone had been traced.

According to the complaint, when the woman reached Ahlu Road, Shabbir took her to the house of a woman identified as Humaira Bibi. He allegedly threatened her with a weapon, raped her and recorded a video of her while she was naked.

The FIR further states that on October 10, Shabbir again summoned the woman to Humaira Bibi’s house on Ahlu Road. The woman went there in an attempt to protect her dignity, but the officer allegedly raped her again.

The woman later approached Kahna Police Station to have a case registered, but police officials allegedly delayed the process instead of registering her complaint.

She subsequently appeared at an open court held by DIG Operations Faisal Kamran, where her complaint was addressed.

A case has now been registered at Kahna Police Station on the woman’s complaint against CCD officer Muhammad Shabbir, and an investigation is under way.
