KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) successfully prevented a large-scale drug smuggling attempt in the country’s maritime boundaries, authorities said.
According to PMSA, a joint intelligence-based operation was carried out alongside JMICC and the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF). During the search, over 1,300 kilograms of cannabis and a significant quantity of illegal liquor were recovered.
The combined value of the seized drugs and other contraband is estimated at more than Rs20 billion. Authorities said all confiscated items have been handed over to the Sindh ANF for further investigation and legal action.
Officials hailed the operation as a 'major success', stressing continued vigilance to curb smuggling and keep the country’s waters safe.
