KARACHI (Dunya News) – Police on Monday night claimed to have arrested a suspected agent of Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in an operation carried out on secrete information in Maripur area here, Dunya News reported.

The suspect was identified as Saleem. Special Investigation Unit Police (SIUP) carried out a raid on a tip-off and arrested the accused from Fish Chorangi on Manora Road with a pistol, a rocket launcher, a hand-grenade, and other explosives.

Police also seized several passports with different names, CNICs and service cards of different companies.

Law enforcers launched an investigation against the suspect after registering a case.

EIGHT POLICEMEN INJURED IN ATTACK

In Khairpur, eight policemen - among them an SHO - were injured when an armed group attacked a police station.

In Kab police jurisdiction, two rival groups traded fire over an issue. On information, police reached the crime scene and arrested some armed men from the scene.

In order to get them freed from police custody, a few members of a warring group attacked the police station and opened indiscriminate fire.

As a result of the firing, eight policemen were injured. They were admitted to hospital. Further investigation was under way.
