Special Branch cop injured during anti-beggary 'campaign'

The suspect fled away while leaving his car behind
LAHORE (Dunya News) – A Special Branch cop suffered injuries after a man opened fire during anti-beggary 'campaign' near Sherpao bridge in the provincial capital on Tuesday.
Police said Imran and Sabir Ali were checking some beggars when they got into an argument. During the course of time, an unidentified man came out of a car (ADQ-178) and started disrupting the checking. An exchange of argument led to firing by the assailant.
The suspect successfully ran away from the crime scene, leaving his car behind. The injured cop was shifted to a nearby hospital.
The local police are searching for the suspect.
