Punjab police to launch grand operation against hardcore criminals in Kacha area: IGP

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Punjab police chief Dr Usman Anwar on Saturday said the police were about to launch a grand operation against hardcore criminals in Kacha Area.

"The Punjab police will be aided by army and Sindh police during the operation," he said while addressing a presser.

He said the Punjab police have once again vowed to initiate a grand operation against the criminal groups residing in Kacha area, adding he himself visited the base camp to get a brief on the preparations.

Anwar further said the senior leadership would be leading the police from the first vehicle that would depart towards battlefield.

The IGP said, through this operation, the police intended to clear a 15,000 sq km area and that the first priority would be reinstating the lost police check-posts. The police would be provided with all kinds of logistics for conducting operation against criminals.

"The Punjab police in liaison with the Pak army have conducted several operations in Kacha area," the IGP said, adding the police once swept through the area but somehow the criminals had once again started gathering in the area.
