Police arrest harasser through Women Safety App

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Police on Friday arrested a harasser with the help of the Women Safety app in Lahore.
The spokesperson for the Punjab Safe Cities Authority said the suspect tried to force the girl to sit on his bike at Gulberg bus stop and despite the refusal of the girl, the suspect kept on insisting her to accompany her.
The victim contacted the Safe Cities Authority through the safety app live chat feature. A police team reached the location within a few minutes and arrested the harasser.
Punjab Safe Cities Authority SP Waqar Azim said the Women Safety App was an excellent tool for timely guidance and immediate assistance to women. He said more than 250,000 women had installed the app.
