Karachi: Unidentified assailants kill educationist in 'targeted attack'

KARACHI (Dunya News) - A senior office-bearer of a private schools association was shot dead in a ‘targeted attack’ in Gulistan-e-Jauhar on Sunday evening.

Victim Syed Khalid Raza, 55, was the deputy director of the Darul Arqam Schools, Karachi region. He was also the vice chairman of the Federation of Private Schools Pakistan.

The police said the incident took place at Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block-7 near his home. The victim came out of his home towards his car parked nearby. Unidentified assailants intercepted him, opened fire and fled.

Raza suffered a single bullet wound in the head and died on the spot.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took notice of the targeted killing, directing the Karachi police chief to investigate the case. 

Governor Kamran Tessori also took notice of the incident and sought report from the police.
