Pakistan Hands over child rape offender to United Kingdom
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tuesday handed over Akhlaq Hussain, a British national and child rape offender, to the United Kingdom (UK).
The suspect was handed over to UK in consideration of the Extradition Act, 1972. Akhlaq Hussain was found guilty of serious sexual offence against a child back in UK in 2016 but managed his flee to Pakistan during trail.
Pakistan had been working closely with UK’s authorities to secure his arrest since 2017. He was arrested by joint operation of Federal Investigated Agency, Punjab police and UK’s National Crime Agency.
