KARACHI (Dunya News) – A terrible incident of honour killing took place in the slums of Karachi where father allegedly murdered his own daughter to save ‘family honour’ after she carried out love marriage.
The incident took place in Mawach Goth area of the Sindh’s provincial capital where the jirga (village council) was organised to save the suspects.
The girl carried out free-will marriage with a man named Sultan, but stayed at her home with father. Her father, who was unhappy with her marriage, allegedly poisoned her.
According to the initial investigation, the girl was poisoned but it didn’t kill her. She was then choked to death by her father. Police sources told that the relatives are trying to help the father escape.

The police promised just inquiry into the matter and assured to punish those responsible.
Meanwhile, a 10-year-old Madrassa student, Aijaz, was killed by his friend Ahsan, 16. The police arrested Ahsan who confessed to raping the 10-year-old and then killing him. Police registered case against the prime suspect in Jhang Bazaar Police Station.
