Thieves ransack 20 shops in Karachi's Empress Market

The incident has created a feeling of insecurity among local shopkeepers.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Around ten thieves ransacked some 20 shops in Karachi’s Express Market and swept goods worth millions of rupees on Sunday night.



Reportedly, the market was sealed by police last night to ensure foolproof security for Muharram procession, however, the thieves managed to break into the shops last night.

The incident has created a feeling of insecurity among local shopkeepers of the area.



A group of thieves is very active and are continuously targeting shops in the area as many similar incidents have been reported in past.

Police have launched investigation into the incident.
