200kg unhygienic meat seized in Faisalabad

The authorities have assured to raid the area from where the meat was being smuggled.

FAISALABAD (Dunya News) – Livestock department on Sunday has seized 200kg substandard meat during raid in Faisalabad.

The development has come in during efforts by the provincial authorities to nab criminals involved in selling of low-quality and adulterated meat.

Sources told that that the authorities on a tip off received, conducted raid in Sir Syed Town and recovered unhygienic meat which was preserved in the deep refrigerators without department’s stamp on it.

On the other hand, the authorities have assured to raid the area from where the meat was being smuggled.

Earlier, at least 200kg meat was seized by law enforcers in Lahore’s Thokar Niaz Baig area. Livestock authorities said that the dead animals’ meat was brought to Lahore from out of station. As many as seven culprits were arrested in the operation.

In another operation, authorities seized stock freezed at a store in Karol Ghati area. Officials said that the meat was stored against hygienic rules.
