"You just need to do it, Conrad", she texted before the boyfriend committed suicide

(Web Desk) – American teenager Michelle Carter has been charged with involuntary manslaughter for convincing boyfriend Conrad Roy to kill himself.

Reportedly, Roy was her ‘online boyfriend’ who had committed suicide on July 2014. She was charged in February when the evidence against her surfaced and is being reported only now.

The District Attorney’s Office released text messages that were exchanged between the couple. It maintained that several text messages prove her guilty of involuntary manslaughter.

According to the indictment, she texted him “you just need to do it, Conrad” and “the more you push it off, the more it will eat at you. You’re ready and prepared”.

“All you have to do is turn the generator on and you will be free and happy. No more pushing it off. No more waiting,” she said in another text.

The police said Roy had killed himself by carbon monoxide poisoning after running gas-powered water pump inside his pickup truck.

Roy texted her from his phone and even spoke with her twice for roughly 45 minutes each time, hours before his death, the indictment reads. Carter later texted one of her friends revealing she had told Roy to get back inside the car when he got scared.
