ISLAMABAD (Online) - A massive operation of Islamabad police against extortionists is under way and four cases have, so far been, registered and 13 suspects are under investigation.

This was revealed by a police spokesman in a statement on Wednesday rejecting the speculations that senior police officers of Islamabad police are unable to get hold over extortionists and claimed that the rumours are baseless.

He further added that as far as the Senator Najma Hameed case is concerned, record from all mobile companies has been demanded and further steps would be taken in light of the record.

The spokesman also said that no such statement has been issued in the meeting in which Islamabad Police officers expressed their inability to get control over the extortionists.

“Islamabad Police is taking all necessary steps and all such untoward incidents will be dealt with iron hand. None of the culprits will be spared,” the spokesman added.
