Kingsmen piled up a daunting 206-5 in their 20 overs
DARWIN (Web Desk) - Chicago Kingsmen extended their unbeaten streak in the Top End T20 Series with a dominant 69-run triumph over Pakistan Shaheens at the DXC Arena on Tuesday.
Opting to bat first, the Kingsmen piled up a daunting 206-5 in their 20 overs. The innings was anchored by a superb 102-run stand between Milind Kumar and Tajinder Dhillon after early hiccups.
Milind was the star with a dazzling 74 off 37 balls, laced with eight boundaries and three maximums, while Dhillon provided stability with 58 off 37. Shayan Jahangir chipped in 30, though the rest of the batting lineup couldn’t capitalize on starts.
Among Shaheens’ bowlers, Mohammad Wasim Jr. grabbed 2 wicket but proved costly, while Saad Masood and Shahid Aziz bagged one apiece.
Chasing 207, Pakistan Shaheens stumbled to 137-8 under constant scoreboard pressure. Opener Yasir Khan fought with 38, skipper Irfan Khan and Shahid Aziz managed 24 each, while late cameos from Wasim Jr. (16*) and Ubaid Shah (13*) weren’t enough to change the outcome.
Kingsmen’s bowlers kept things tight, with Scott Kuggeleijn leading the charge with 3 wickets. Ehsan Adil claimed two, while Ghulam Mudassar, Hassan Khan, and Umer Khan picked up one each.
With this victory, the Kingsmen secured their third consecutive win, topping the table with six points and a strong net run rate of 1.740. The Shaheens, meanwhile, slipped to third with two wins from four outings.
Next up, Irfan Khan’s men will try to regroup against Adelaide Strikers Academy on August 20.
