LAHORE (Dunya News) – New Zealand defeated South Africa by six wickets in the second match of tri-nation series held here on Monday.
New Zealand chased down the target of 305 runs for the loss of four wickets in the 49th over and qualified for the final. Skipper Williamson scored an unbeaten 133 runs while Devon Conway made 97 runs.
Earlier, South African debutant Mathew Breetzke scored a valiant 150 to help South Africa score over 300. His innings featured five maximums and 11 fours. This is the highest individual score by a batsman on ODI debut. He surpassed DL Haynes (148), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (127) Colin Ingram (124), and Mark Chapman (124) to break the record.
Will O'Rourke and Matt Henry claimed two wickets each which while Micheal Bracewell also took one wicket.
New Zealand won the toss and elected to field first. New Zealand secured win over Pakistan on Saturday, while South Africa is playing their first game.
Injured Rachin Ravindra is replaced by Devon Conway. The all-rounder was left bloodied by the blow to his forehead after losing sight of the ball in the floodlights as he attempted a catch in the 38th over of Pakistan's innings.
