LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former captain Waqar Younis has assumed charge as advisor to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
He has been appointed as cricket advisor, who will handle all matters related to the national cricket team.
However, Mr Naqvi will oversee the administrative affairs of the board.
Sources said the former cricketer will solely take decision about international and domestic cricket, selection committees and issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to players.
The primary focus for the PCB chairman would be handling the administrative affairs of the Champions Trophy to be hosted by Pakistan in 2025.
As per PCB Constitutions 2014, the chairman is authorized to share his powers any other person.
Mohsin Naqvi aims to engage experienced players to look after the cricket affairs.
