(Web Desk) - Influx of social media memes forced the South African cricket team captain, Temba Bavuma, to respond to a picture in which he appeared to have a nap during captains conference.
The image went viral on the social media, prompting people to create memes on it and scores of the users also criticised the South African captain.
Prior to the beginning of the World Cup, a conference of the team captains was organised, where Bavuma was also present.
A picture of the conference was shared on the social media, igniting debate and criticism how a team captain could sleep during a conference of an important tournament which was being watched by people the world over.
The South African captain in his reaction denied he was sleeping.
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Bavuma said, “I blame the camera angle, I wasn’t sleeping.”
However, social media users rejected his claim and shared scores of the X posts to validate their claims.
