Asia Cup 2023: Bangladesh beat Afghanistan by 89 runs
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan by 89 runs in the fourth match of the Asia Cup at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Sunday.
Chasing a target of 335 runs, Afghanistan bowled out for 245 runs in the 45th over. Ibrahim Zadran scored 75 runs while Afghan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi made 51 runs.
Bangladesh’s Taskin Ahmed took four wickets while Shoriful Islam grabbed three wickets to help beating Afghanistan in the important game.
Earlier, after winning toss, Bangladesh opted to bat first. Two centuries from Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Najmul Hossain Shanto helped Bangladesh to pile huge runs on the board. Miraz scored 112 off 119 balls. He hit seven fours and three sixes.
Najmul scored 104 from 105 balls. He smashed nine boundaries and two sixes.
Earlier, Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 5 wickets in the first match.
