Pakistan stand atop with most five-wicket hauls in World Cup Super League

Naseem Shah bagged two five-fers, first in 2022 and another in 2023

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan bowlers have grabbed the most five-wicket hauls for any country in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League.

It was announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in a Twitter post, stating that the players of the Team Green bagged six five-wicket hauls in the super league stage.

Mohammad Hasnain, Naseem Shah, Iftikhtar Ahmed, Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali have brought pride to the country.

Pakistan’s young fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain bagged his maiden five-wicket haul against Zimbabwe in third ODI of the five-match game at Rawalpindi stadium in November 2020.

In the same series, Iftikhar Ahmed bagged the feat in the second ODI against Zimbabwe when he claimed a 5-wicket haul for 40-runs.

Naseem Shah achieved his first five-fers (5-33) in August 2022 when his thrilling performance helped Pakistan to sweep the series against Netherlands.

Star Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi achieved a 5-wicket haul for 49-runs in 10-overs against Zimbabwe in the first ODI in 2020.

Fast bowler Hasan Ali took five wickets for 51 runs against Bangladesh in the opening cricket Test in November 2021.

Pacer Naseem Shah took his second five-wicket haul as Pakistan cruised to a six-wicket win over New Zealand in the first one-day international in Jan 2023.
