KARACHI (Web Desk) - Former Pakistan cricket team bolwer Tanvir Ahmed is not happy with decision of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for placing former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed in Category D in the central contracts of the board.
The board has given total contracts of red-ball cricket to 10 cricketers. Former Pakistan captain Azhar Ali in Category A. The likes of Abid Ali, Sarfaraz, Shan Masood and Yasir Shah have been handed Category D contracts.
According to the former Test cricketer, Sarfaraz Ahmed should have been included in the higher category.
On his YouTube channel, Tanvir said, "I don’t understand why Sarfaraz is silent."
“A captain who has won the Champions Trophy. A player who has several achievements, I don’t why he is tolerating such an attitude from PCB.
“I would have told PCB what they truly deserved if I had won the Champions Trophy and had to deal with such an attitude. However, I believe that some players, despite their lack of respect, still want to be on the team," he added.
He further raised questio on placing Test match player Fawad Alam in Category B. “They have facilitated all of their friends in full capacity. Otherwise, Fawad should have been in the A category of red-ball format contracts.
“He only plays Test format and look at his performance, it’s injustice to give him the contract in the B category,” he said.
Pakistan’s all-format skipper Babar Azam, along with Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi have been awarded both red and white-ball contracts.
