LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan cricket team bowling coach Waqar Younis on Tuesday while expressing satisfaction over the performance of the players during New Zealand tour said that he was saddened by the statements of fast bowler Muhammad Amir, who recently retired from cricket.

Talking to media in Lahore on Tuesday, he said that Muhammad Amir is a good cricketer and he was one of his supporter for his return to international cricket. “I convinced people to give a chance to him chance,” he said.

Regarding performance of the national cricket team, the bowling coach said that it was good to appear before the cricket committee and discuss in detail the cricketing matters, adding that the committee had good discussions for the development of the game.

He further said that the performance we gave during Coronavirus situation was satisfactory as due to quarantine the preparation could not be done properly. “14 days quarantine is not easy,” he said and added New Zealand tour is always difficult and the team could perform as was expected.
