Shahid Afridi accuses Indian media of 'misconstruing' remarks on Kashmir
The 38-year-old cricketer took to popular micro-blogging website Twitter and issued clarification.
(Web Desk) – Pakistan’s star all-rounder Shahid Afridi on Wednesday accused Indian media of misconstruing his comments on Kashmir issue.

He said, “My comments are being misconstrued by Indian media! I m passionate about my country and greatly value the struggles of Kashmiris. Humanity must prevail and they should get their rights.”
Afridi further added, "My clip is incomplete & out of context as what I said before that is missing.Kashmir is unresolved dispute & under brutal Indian occupation. It must be resolved as per UN resolution. Myself along with every Pakistani support Kashmiri freedom struggle. Kashmir belongs to Pakistan."

Earlier, Afridi tossed up controversy with comments on Kashmir during his stay in United Kingdoms. He said, “Pakistan doesn’t want Kashmir. Pakistan can’t even manage its four provinces.”
“Kashmir is not even an issue. I say that Pakistan does not need Kashmir. Don’t give it [Kashmir] to India either. Let Kashmir be an independent state. At least, humanity will survive. The people who are getting killed there [Indian-held Kashmir] wouldn’t be killed anymore. Humanity comes first. Any death, be it from any religion, is painful”, Afridi can be seen as saying in the video.
