(Sports Desk) – Former Pakistan Cricket Team captain Wasim Akram has expressed concern at not finding any noteworthy batsman in the recent edition of the Pakistan Super League.
The pacer, also known as the Sultan of Swing, said that while there did come a few bowlers and all-rounders in the spotlight, no new batsman managed to impress him.
He further remarked that this is due to the weak domestic structure of cricket in Pakistan. He urged PCB to focus attention on developing domestic structure.
He termed the recent PSL a successful event which would help bring cricket back to Pakistan. He lauded the performances of senior players like Kumar Sangakkar who he said inspired young players.
He also lauded Islamabad United as the deserved winners of the trophy and expressed hope that his team, Multan Sultans will bounce back in the next season with marked improvement after suffering tough luck in the latest tournament.
