(Dunya News)- Proving his mettle once again, big-hitting left-hander Chris Gayle slammed a 51-ball 126 in first eliminator of Bangladesh Premier League held at at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.

Gayle brought his ton on just 45 balls.

The king of the shorter format has become first player to hit 800 sixes in T20 format. Gayle is featuring for Rangpur Riders in fifth installment of BPL.

The Caribbean Calypso has also achieved another milestone of registering largest individual innings of 126. Earlier, the record was held by Bangladesh’s Sabir Rahman with 122 runs.

Gayle also set the new record of hitting 14 sixes in an innings in BPL surpassing his own of 12 in 2013.

As a result of Gayle’s blitz, Riders jousted Titans out of the tournament and propelled onwards to the second qualifier where they would meet Comilla Victorians.
