ICC Women's World Cup: Australia beat Pakistan by 159 runs
Australia managed to score 290 runs in the allotted 50 overs for the loss of eight wickets
LEICESTER (Dunya News) – While chasing down a target of 291 runs to win at Leicester, Pakistani batting line had no answer to the magnificent bowling by Aussies as the whole team collapsed at 131 all out.
At the end of the day, it was Australian women side that emerged victorious as they trumped their opponents by 159 runs.
Batting first Australia managed to score 290 in the allotted overs as they lose eight wickets in the process.
EA Perry scored 66, Villani 59 while Healey remained not out at 63 as Pakistan had to chase the target of 291 to register their first win in the mega event.
Earlier, the defending champions Australia on Wednesday won the toss against Pakistan and decided to bat first in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 match.
The match started at 02:30 PM (PST) at Grace Road, Leicester. Pakistan were not yet off the mark in the tournament and have lost all three matches. On the contrary, Aussies have triumphed in all of their games in the championship.
Australia made two changes in their playing XI as Meg Lanning and Megan Schuttt are out, and Rachel Haynes, the captain, and Sarah Aley take their places. Aley made her ODI debut in this match.
Pakistan made one only change from the previous game. Marina Iqbal came in the squad for Javeria Khan.

After being asked to bat first in at Grace Road, Leicester the Australian batting line suffered an early blow when Asmavia Iqbal got Mooney in the very first over of the game.
Australia got further in trouble when their second opener NE Bolton was trapped leg before wicket by Diana Baig after she scored just three runs.
Both EA Perry and RL Haynes control the situation after the early collapse as they built the innings while playing shots all around the wicket. Both the batters put on 53 runs for the second wicket after the partnership was broken by the skipper as she got the wicket of Haynes.
EJ Villani played an amazing knock as she thumped four twoering sixes and got out after scoring 59 runs of 40 delieveries.
Villani was cleaned up by Marina Iqbal as the fourth wicket fell when Australia were 143.
Sana Mir got another wicket when she cleaned Blackwell after 23 runs of 27 deliveries.
Australia were 188 for the loss of five wickets after 40 overs.
Two more wickets fell in the five overs gap between 40 and 45 as Perry and Johnson also fell in the interval. The eight wicket fell when A Gardener was caught by Asmavia Iqbal of the bowling of skipper Sana Mir.
Australian wicket keeper AJ Healy was also able to play a brilliant innings as she scored a quick fifty in the last overs of the innings. Moreover, she also give a fair treatment to the Diana Baig in the last over while thumping her away for two fours and a six. A total of 22 runs came of the last over.
