Deputy Attorney General is ordered appear before the high court on July 4

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Shuhada Foundation has challenged allocation of Rs 10 million to national cricketers each after Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif announced the prize money for Champions Trophy 2017 win.

The foundation filed a petition in Islamabad High Court today stating that the national cricketers enjoy facilities that of BS-22 officers besides match fees and central salary. The premier should not use tax payers’ money to reward cricketers who are already rewarded, the plea read.

The high court has ordered Deputy Attorney General of Pakistan to explain the laws under which the Prime Minister announced Rs 10 million reward for each of the squad members.

The petition calls for the high court to issue an injunction in the matter and look into the allocation.

The hearing was adjourned until July 4 which is when the Deputy Attorney General is ordered to explain the laws.
