(Web Desk) – Its Pakistan vs India once again but this time the tussle is to be held off the field as both Pakistani and Indian owners buy franchises in the South African T20 League. The owners of Peshawar Zalmi and the Kolkata Knight Riders bought the franchises of Benoni and Cape Town respectively.
Javed Afridi’s Benoni Zalmi is likely to face Shahrukh Khan’s Cape Town in the South Africa’s Global T20 league.
Earlier, Javed Afridi, owner of Peshawar Zalmi, announced that the Zalmi philosophy will now extend to the South African Global T20 League as ‘Benoni Zalmi’.

“It is an honour for us to represent Benoni, we may be the champions in Pakistan but there is a bigger message we would like to give to the world. Don’t lose your youthfulness, never lose your passion, in cricket and in life,” the franchise said quoting Javed Afridi.
Owners of both the franchises have vowed to buy young aggressive players that have the ability to set the stage alight with their performances.
Regarding the buying of the new franchise, the Bollywood superstar, Shahrukh Khan said: "On behalf of all of us from Knight Riders, congratulations to Cricket South Africa for the launch of exciting new T20 Global League. We are delighted and thankful that you have made Knight Riders part of the new Global League. South Africa is a beautiful country with beautiful people and I really look forward to be part of the exciting new journey and building something special together. We are particularly thrilled to make Cape Town and Newlands our new home away from home.”
Shahrukh’s new team will be named as the “Cape Town Knight Riders”.
