Pakistan representative of UNHCR, Indrika Ratwatte attended the opening ceremony

(Web Desk) – Two-day cricket tournament organised by Peshawar Zalmi Foundation and UNHCR to raise awareness over refugee crisis around the world kicked off on Friday in Shalimar Ground.

Pakistan representative of UNHCR, Indrika Ratwatte and owner of Peshawar Zalmi Javed Afridi attended the opening ceremony among others.

“This day marks the beginning of our bilateral struggle to create awareness and support for the Afghan refugee crisis as well as many other causes. We aim to support the United Nations and its efforts through our programs at the Peshawar Zalmi Foundation,” Javed Afridi said.




Peshawar Zalmi won Pakistan Super League second edition this year in the final match that was held in Lahore against Quetta Galdiators. Darren Sammy led the team to victory as the skipper.
