Skipper stated that his statement has been misinterpreted

KOLKATA (Dunya News) – Pakistan’s T20 captain Shahid Afridi on Monday tried to clarify his remarks in which he stated that he is loved in India much more than he is loved in Pakistan by stating that his statement was being misinterpreted as he was only trying to send a positive message from his country, reported Dunya News.

Afridi further added that he wanted to say that cricket is given a lot of respect in India and that it is a way to bring people together. He said that he attempted to be a diplomat through his words which were perceived in the wrong sense.

He said that even Waqar Younis, Inzamam-ul-Haq and Wasim Akram can relate to all the respect they have earned while playing in India. Afridi stated that the cricket is a main reason of improving the ties between India and Pakistan over the years.
