Australia bowl first against New Zealand

Australia won the toss and put New Zealand in to bat in the first ODI on Wednesday.
AUCKLAND (AFP) - Australia won the toss and put New Zealand in to bat in the first match of the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy one-day series at Eden Park on Wednesday.
"Looking at the history of the ground the team bowling first has won 80 percent of the games," Australian captain Steve Smith said.
Josh Hazlewood, who has been sidelined for a while, returns to lead a four-pronged pace attack with no room for leg-spinner Adam Zampa.
New Zealand have retained the same side that beat Pakistan by 70 runs on the same wicket three days ago.
Leg-spinner Ish Sodhi was rushed into the side after the wicket showed signs of turn during the Pakistan match, but captain Brendon McCullum said the small boundaries at Eden Park meant they ultimately decided to play Mitchell Santner as the sole spinner.
The match marks the beginning of the end for McCullum who will retire from international cricket after the Australian series.
The last time the two sides played an ODI at Eden Park it was a low-scoring thriller which New Zealand won by one wicket during pool play in the World Cup in early 2015.
Australia later triumphed in a similarly low-scoring game in the World Cup final in Melbourne last March.
