Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 1st ODI: Sri Lanka sets fine target of 276

HAMBANTOTA (Web Desk) – The first ODI between Pakistan and Sri Lanka has been restricted to 45 overs due to moist field so the match was delayed by half an hour.
Pakistan had won the toss and decided to bowl first.
First Sri Lankan wicket was taken at 16 runs when Tillakaratne Dilashan got LBW on Muhammad Irfan’s ball. As soon as the score was 17, it started to rain and the match had to be paused.
After the match resumed, Sri Lanka witnessed loss of another wicket of Upul Tharanga who got caught behind on Wahab Riaz’s ball, making a score of 18 runs.
Kumar Sangakkara got caught on Muhammad Hafeez’s ball making 40 runs. Following the loss of Sangakkara, Dinesh Chandimal was just able to add 6 runs to the total score and was sent back to the pavilion by Muhammad Irfan.
Angelo Mathews and Mahela Jayawardene completed their partnership of 50 adding a handsome 98 runs to the score when Mahela Jayawardene got run out at 63. Thisara Perrera joined in after Jayawardene departed but could only add 8 runs and got out on Wahab Riaz’s ball.
By the 43rd over, the score was 247 for 6 wickets when Wahab Riaz bowled Angelo Mathews. Mathews went to the pavilion with 89 runs.
Ashan Priyanjan and Nuwan Kulasekara were on the crease when the inning of 45 overs ended at 275.
