Zimbabwe decided to bowl in the first Test against Pakistan at the Harare Sports Club.

HARARE (AP) - Stand-in Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza won the toss and sent Pakistan in to bat in the first test Tuesday after Zimbabwe's players agreed to defer their pay dispute until next week.

Regular captain Brendan Taylor is sitting out the match to be with his wife, who has recently given birth. Zimbabwe suffered a blow when Seam Williams opted not to play until the Zimbabwe Cricket Union clears his pay claims.

Pakistan opening batsman Mohammad Hafeez will play after recovering from a hamstring injury.

The pay dispute between Zimbabwe players and the ZCU surfaced before Pakistan team arrived and the players threatened to boycott the third one-day international last week.

ZCU has promised to clear players' due payments before the second test at Bulawayo next week.
