Summary Ten-gram rate falls to Rs361,686
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Gold prices in Pakistan continued to decline on Saturday, marking a fifth consecutive day of losses as international bullion prices slipped below the key $4,000-per-ounce level.
The sustained fall pushed gold in both domestic and international markets to a five-month low, according to the All Sarafa Association.
In local markets, the price of 24-carat gold fell by Rs2,500 per tola to Rs422,036. The price of 10 grams also declined, dropping by Rs2,144 to Rs361,686.
The latest reduction extends a period of persistent weakness in bullion prices, with the domestic market following the downward movement in international rates.
Global prices
International gold prices also recorded another decline, falling by $25 per ounce to $3,995. The move took bullion below the psychologically significant $4,000 threshold, adding to the pressure on local prices.
Gold has now registered five consecutive days of losses in global and domestic markets. The latest figures underline the extent of the recent retreat, with prices falling to their lowest levels in five months, according to the association.
International bullion movements are closely watched in Pakistan's jewellery markets, where changes in global prices influence local rates alongside currency movements and other market factors.
Silver falls
Silver prices also moved lower in domestic trading. The price of silver declined by Rs7 per tola to Rs5,858.
The simultaneous decline in gold and silver reflects the broader weakness recorded across the local precious metals market.
