Summary The delivery of the commodity from Punjab to KP has begun

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The ban on supply of wheat and flour from Punjab to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been removed.

The ban on wheat and flour movement to KP stayed for several months. Now the delivery of wheat and flour from Punjab has begun. With the removal of the restriction, there is a possibility that flour price will decrease in KP.

A meeting of the committee formed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was held in which representatives of the federal government including KP governor, opposition leader, and KP chief secretary participated.

The meeting decided that the Punjab government should ensure delivery of flour and wheat to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa without delay. It has ordered the Punjab government to remove all obstacles.

Wheat production in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is 1.2 million metric tons, while the requirement is 5 million metric tons, so Khyber Pakhtunkhwa imports most of its wheat and flour from Punjab.
