ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Pakistani premium olive oil producer Loralai Olives has launched operations in the United Arab Emirates, targeting exports of $500,000 by the end of 2026 as Pakistan pushes to expand value-added agricultural exports beyond traditional commodity crops.

The UAE launch comes as Pakistan seeks to develop its emerging olive cultivation sector and tap Gulf markets with premium food products.

The UAE, home to more than 1.6 million Pakistanis, is also one of the world’s fastest-growing olive oil markets, projected to reach $404 million by 2030, according to figures cited by the company.

Loralai Olives said it aimed to begin with exports of $100,000 before scaling shipments to $500,000 by the end of next year through retail and distribution partnerships across the UAE.

The company said the launch made Loralai Olives “the first Pakistani and South Asian olive oil company to enter the region,” according to a statement released by the company.

Pakistan has expanded olive cultivation in recent years under government-backed plantation initiatives aimed at reducing dependence on imported edible oils and developing new agricultural export sectors. Loralai Olives sources olives from Balochistan, Pothohar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, regions the company described as producing distinctive flavor profiles because of their climate and terrain.

In 2025, the company also became the “first-ever Pakistani and South Asian EVOO brand” to win a silver award at the New York International Olive Oil Competition (NYIOOC), according to the statement.

“We came to introduce the world to places and flavors it has never encountered,” founder Shaukat said in the statement.

“The hills of Loralai, the valleys of Pothohar, the orchards of KPK, these lands have a voice. Loralai Olives is how that voice reaches the world.”

The company said its UAE launch includes several extra virgin olive oil varieties, including Fajr, Arbequina and Frantoio, and that it planned to expand further into Gulf and European markets in the coming years.
